Helen Jenkins BA (Hons) Fine Art

Professional info

I first embarked on my art education by completing a Foundation Diploma at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College (now Bucks New Uni) and continuing onto a BA Fine Art degree at The Arts Institute at Bournemouth (now Arts University Bournemouth).

Since graduating in 2008 until June 2018 I was an artist based at Commercial Square Studios in High Wycombe.

I completed a one day course in freehand machine embroidery which started my path to being a textile artist. Helen Jenkins Designs was established in 2011 producing artwork for the home with a quirky twist to make you smile. Now specialising in freehand machine embroidered textile products; hoop art, framed artwork, necklaces and brooches, all items are unique and handmade.

I am passionate about fabric and what can be created using it. The possibilities are endless. I enjoy playing with new materials and discovering new techniques to keep my work a continuous evolution. I take inspiration from everyday objects to something unusaul in order to satisfy an idea.

Recently I have been working much more intuitively on contemporary textile artworks which incorporate hand stitching.

Commissions welcome.
